HSHS Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s hospitals thank doctors on national observance

Physicians will be honored at HSHS Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s hospitals during National Doctors Day on March 30. The annual day recognizes physicians for the important role they play in helping patients, promoting overall health and by recognizing their significant accomplishments.

The day was first celebrated on March 30, 1933, when Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, set a day aside to honor physicians. From those beginnings, the celebration spread and, in 1991, National Doctors Day was proclaimed by President George Bush.

Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s Heart hospitals wish to extend their deep gratitude and appreciation to physicians for their long hours and dedication to providing excellent care to patients in our communities.

“The physicians practicing at our hospitals and clinics make a difference in the lives of the patients we serve. We embrace all of our physician partners for a day of recognition and celebration of their commitment and dedication,” said Andy Bagnall, president and CEO, HSHS Western Wisconsin Division, which includes HSHS Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s hospitals.
