HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital offers Parkinson’s support group

Parkinson's disease is a progressive, nervous system disorder that develops gradually over time and can limit one’s movement, which can become socially isolating for people suffering from it. To bring together individuals and families affected by this progressive disease, HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital has been hosting a free monthly support group for community members affected by Parkinson’s disease.

The group meets from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. the third Tuesday of every month at the Prevea Health Center located at 1109 West Clairemont Avenue.

The next meetings are scheduled for September 17, October 15, November 19 and December 17. The meetings are facilitated by a certified neuroscience registered nurse and a physical therapist assistant.

Registration is not needed and new members are always welcome. For more information, contact Jamie Wright at (715) 717-4505.
