HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital unveils renovated Women and Infants Center April 30

EAU CLAIRE – HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital will host a ribbon cutting and tour of the hospital’s newly renovated Women and Infants Center on Monday, April 30. A special blessing will take place at 9 a.m. with an Eau Claire Chamber ribbon cutting at 9:15 a.m. Tours of the redesigned space will be offered right after the ribbon cutting, until Noon, on the third floor of the hospital at 900 West Clairemont Ave. The public is welcome and refreshments will be served.

Sacred Heart Hospital is the first hospital in the region to provide the convenience of all-in-one birthing suites – where labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care take place in one comfortable and private suite. Mother and baby won’t have to move rooms mid-way through their hospital stay and will bond in the same room together until they are ready to go home.

Each spacious suite is designed to provide a comfortable, home-like environment with:
  • Birthing slings (first hospital in the area) – which have the potential to shorten the duration of labor, lessen the likelihood of a c-section and potentially decrease the need for an epidural during childbirth
  • Birthing tubs in select rooms for pain relief and delivery
  • Aromatherapy to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation
  • Bassinets stocked with newborn supplies
  • Birthing beds that adjust for maximum comfort during labor
  • Blanket warmers for mom and baby
  • Designated lactation consultation room
  • Larger bathrooms, private showers and newborn bathing sinks
  • Microwave and fridge in each room
  • Patient controlled lights and thermostat
  • Room service that lets you to select from a menu and order meals at your convenience
  • Sofa sleeper for Dad or another family member to stay
  • Surround sound speaker system for playing personalized music

“Responding to the needs of our community has always been a primary focus of Sacred Heart Hospital,” said Bethany Calkins, RN, BSN, manager of the hospital’s Women and Infants Center. “The opening of our newly remodeled center invites families to create an experience all their own with multiple birthing options. We’re excited to offer new amenities that complement our compassionate and trusted care.”

To schedule a personal tour of the new space before the delivery of your baby, call the hospital’s Women and Infants Center at 715-717-4156.
