Hospitals welcome Scott Hamilton May 8

HSHS Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s hospitals are pleased to bring figure skating icon Scott Hamilton to Eau Claire for a community presentation May 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the State Theater (316 Eau Claire Street). Hamilton is this year’s Monsignor Klimek Healing Presence Lecturer.

It’s been 33 years since Hamilton grabbed the Olympic Gold, but some of his biggest victories have been off the ice. He successfully survived testicular cancer and reoccurring benign brain tumors with a hope-filled spirit. Learn Hamilton’s secrets to overcoming adversity, and how to choose to celebrate life even in the most challenging times.

This event is made possible by the Monsignor Klimek Healing Presence Endowment of the HSHS Sacred Heart Foundation. Hamilton is the seventh individual to be chosen as a Monsignor Klimek Healing Presence Endowment Lecturer. Established in 2007 with the guidance of Monsignor Klimek, the endowment is a means to honor and perpetuate Monsignor Klimek’s unique ministry by recognizing the importance of spirituality in healing, especially for the seriously ill and dying.

Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at or by calling the State Theater at (715) 832-2787. Proceeds from the presentation will benefit upcoming hospital-sponsored community programs.
