In Partnership with Sacred Heart Hospital, the Volunteer Partners of Sacred Heart Hospital provide compassionate supportive services for patients, their families and hospital staff; promote community awareness of the Hospital mission; and raise funds for Hospital needs.
The Volunteer Partners of Sacred Heart Hospital consists of a group of previous and current volunteers who work in conjunction with our Volunteer Services department to provide support for Sacred Heart Hospital’s community health and social functions, fundraising events and operation of the hospital’s Gift Shop. The Volunteer Partners are governed by a board of elected officers, members who work together to recruit new volunteers. Membership is a mix of active in-hospital volunteers as well as individuals who choose to purchase membership benefits.
The 2012-13 Volunteer Partners Board of Directors has a combined total of 108 years of service. Last year alone, the Volunteer Partners provided more than 44,000 hours of service and gifted $79,300 to support The Healing Place: A Center for Life's Journeys; the employees’ Tuition Assistance Grant Program; and helped purchase vital hospital equipment not in the budget.
As a Volunteer Partner, you can support the hospital by donating your time, your money – or both!
Members pay a nominal, annual membership fee, and receive many perks, such as:
- A 10% discount on purchases made at our hospital’s Gift Shop
- A 10% discount in our hospital’s cafeteria
- Invitation to an Annual Luncheon
- Board election voting rights
- Miscellaneous applicable discount tickets
- Subscription to the Volunteer Partners newsletter
As a member of the Volunteer Partners, you also have the opportunity to participate in many activities at the hospital, including (but not limited to): Annual Meeting and Recognition Spring Luncheon, Annual Love-lights Event, Book Fairs, Christmas Tea, Fall Luncheon, Gift Shop Sales, Jewelry Sale, Pie & Ice Cream Social as well as Miscellaneous Hospital Events.
You can become a Volunteer Partners member in two ways:
- Regular Membership – for active in-hospital volunteers.
Annual Dues: $10/individual, $15/couple - Associate Membership – for individuals wishing to donate, but unable to volunteer in hospital. Annual Dues: $15/individual, $20/couple.
Membership is open to both men and women. Dues are annual and the membership year runs July through June.
