What To Expect

When your child is admitted to the pediatric department at Sacred Heart Hospital you can expect the best medical and surgical care possible, as well as some amenities designed to put your child at ease and make his or her stay with us more comfortable.

• Our department is decorated with kid-friendly themes.
• We have private rooms equipped with private bathrooms.
• There is a television and DVD player in each room.
• Video games are available.
• Each room has a couch that converts to a bed so a family member can stay overnight.
• A stuffed animal or toy is given to each child upon arrival.
• If your child is staying with us for a prolonged period of time, we will work with his or her school to ensure he or she doesn’t fall behind with homework.

We also encourage you to bring along items from home that make your child feel more secure and comfortable such as a favorite blanket, toy or stuffed animal. We want our young patients to be as relaxed and happy as possible during their stay with us.
