Sacred Heart Hospital hosts special Masses on February 11 to honor World Day of Prayer for the Sick

January 23, 2012

Eau Claire, Wis., - Sacred Heart Hospital (900 West Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire) will be hosting two special Masses on Saturday, February 11, in the hospital’s Father Christopher Chapel in observance of the 20th annual World Day of Prayer for the Sick. The Masses will be held at 7 a.m. and at 5 p.m.

The Masses, which will be celebrated by Monsignor Edmund Klimek, senior priest chaplain, and Father James Arthur, chaplain, at Sacred Heart Hospital, will remember those who are sick and suffering. The Masses will also be an occasion of prayer and support for the countless caregivers devoted to caring for the sick.

“This is a day in which countless Christian communities throughout the world spiritually gather together to pray for those who are sick and suffering,” said Monsignor Klimek.

The Masses are open to the public.

World Day of Prayer for the Sick is an annual, globally recognized observance originally designated by Pope John Paul II in 1992.
