Eau Claire Partner’s Breast Cancer Information and Support GroupThis group offers regular, free, open lectures to the public. Programs are designed for women who have had breast cancer, their families and friends, or for anyone with an interest in breast cancer. Transcending Divorce Support GroupIf you are in the midst of divorce or are in the process of recovering from divorce, The Healing Place is offering a six-week program for those experiencing divorce utilizing Alan Wolfelt’s book: Transcending Divorce. Wolfelt uses 10 touchstones/benchmarks on the journey through divorce that help one connect with a renewed sense of purpose and meaning. Thursday Evening Spouse Loss Support GroupThe death of a spouse or life partner is difficult to handle. If you are struggling to cope with the loss of your loved one and are worried about facing the future without your partner, you are encouraged to attend a Six Week Spouse Loss Support Group at The Healing Place: A Center for Life’s Journeys – Sacred Heart Hospital’s grief support and holistic healing center, for assistance, guidance and comfort. The group will meet for six consecutive Thursday evenings, April 7 to May 12, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Healing Place, 1010 Oakridge Drive, Eau Claire. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)Unwind. Take control of your stress. Start enjoying life. Learn to reduce your stress, enjoy greater energy, decrease your pain and increase your ability to relax in our Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course. CLIMB: The Children’s Treehouse Foundation ProgramCLIMB stands for Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery. This six-week program, geared toward children ages 5 to 12 years old, gives emotional support to kids who have a parent or loved one diagnosed with cancer. This is a Marshfield Clinic Program. Healing Place ProgramsAmerican Heart Association Training CenterThis course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages, use of AED on adult and children, and relief of foreign body airway obstruction in responsive and unresponsive victims. Touched by CancerThis group is for cancer patients, their families, friends and anyone else whose life has been touched by cancer. Co-facilitated by Rosemary Ludwig, Oncology Certified Registered Nurse and Gerry Martinez, Cancer Center Counselor. class is taught by a veterinarian and is designed to help you, your
newborn, and your pet live together in harmony. Many concerns will be
addressed on how dogs and cats react to a new baby in the house. Learn
valuable tips to prepare your pets. Childbirth Siblings ClassThis class is held for children who are expecting a baby brother or sister. The class is designed to help prepare 3 to 10 year olds for the changes that will be occurring in their family. Children are asked to bring a doll or teddy bear and be accompanied by an adult. Children will tour Maternity Department, practice diapering, burping and holding a baby. A slide and video presentation is also included. Childbirth Breastfeeding ClassThis class is an in-depth look at the art of breastfeeding for those who are planning to breastfeed their new baby or are still undecided. The class is taught by lactation consultants. You are encouraged to have the expectant father and/or other support persons attend with you. Childbirth SaturdayThis one-day class covers the same content as the childbirth series above. Class size is limited. Childbirth SeriesThis four-week series is designed to prepare first-time parents for labor and delivery as well as bringing your new baby home. Comfort Shawl GroupEnjoy
knitting or crocheting? Join The Healing Place’s Comfort Shawl group.
This group creates shawls to be given to those who are grieving the
loss of a loved one. Bring your needles and enthusiasm! You don’t need
to have experienced the loss of a loved one in order to join this group. New Beginnings Spouse Loss GroupThese groups are open to anyone who has lost a spouse. Pre-registration is not required. Suicide Survivor’s GroupThis on-going group is offered for those who have lost a loved one through suicide. Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support GroupOn-going group offered for parents who have lost a child through miscarriage, stillbirth or early infant death.
