Community Care
The Community Care program at Sacred Heart Hospital
It’s a direct reflection of our mission to provide healthcare to all people, regardless of their ability to pay. Through our Community Care program:
- Patients who do not have the financial resources to pay for services or have incurred financial hardship may have their hospital bills partially or completely forgiven—if they meet the requirements.
- Community Care does not include bad debt; it is truly the cost of providing healthcare to those who have the obligation and willingness to pay, but do not have the ability to pay.
- In 2012, Sacred Heart Hospital provided $14.8 million of nonbilled services for the community.
