Childbirth Series
Four evening weekly classes help prepare first-time parents for labor, delivery and bringing baby home.
Childbirth Saturday
This is a one-day intensive class that covers the four-week material of the Childbirth Series.
Childbirth Refresher Class
This class is designed to meet the needs of parents who have had a child in the past five years and only desire a review in labor and delivery.
The class also includes relaxation techniques, sibling preparation, cesarean
section video and a tour of the maternity department.
Sibling Class
This class is specially designed for children expecting a new baby brother or sister. It helps prepare 3 to 10-year-olds for the coming changes in their family. Children are asked to bring a doll or a teddy bear and be accompanied by an adult. Classes tour the Touch of Love Maternity department and practice diapering, burping and holding a “baby” (their doll or teddy). The class concludes with a video presentation.
Breastfeeding Class
Taught by lactation consultants, this class is an in-depth look at the art of breastfeeding for those who are planning to breastfeed their new baby or are still undecided. Fathers and/or support persons are welcome.
Pets & Your Newborn
Taught by a veterinarian, this class is designed to help you, your newborn and pets live together in harmony. Concerns will be addressed on how your cat or dog will react and adjust to a new baby in the house. Valuable tips are provided to prepare pets for the new arrival.
