About Us
The Healing Place Grief and Loss Support Center was established in 1989 by the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis to commemorate the Centennial Year of Sacred Heart Hospital. Our center is a community outreach service that is part of our hospital’s Center for Spiritual Care. We provide professional counseling and grief support group services to anyone in the greater Eau Claire area who is in need of supportive resources while dealing with the issues of grief that accompany the death of a loved one.
Our mission is to provide a healing presence through comfort and companionship to bereaved persons dealing with the death of a loved
one and to offer education and support to institutions, agencies and surrounding communities on death-related grief issues. Trained counselors companion with individuals and families of all ages as they journey through loss, helping them to become active participants in their healing process. All life experiences discussed during counseling sessions are kept confidential. Support groups, classes and workshops on
topics related to healing after loss are also offered.
The Healing Place provides quality services to grieving persons and communities in western Wisconsin free of charge while maintaining the tradition and values of Sacred Heart Hospital. Our services are supported through community funds raised by Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital and through ongoing donations and memorials.
