About Us
Sacred Heart Hospital’s Renal Dialysis Center provides state-of-the-art hemodialysis technology and services. We offer two dialysis centers for patient convenience, and our experienced staff, advanced equipment and physician guidance enhances the quality of our dialysis services. Nurses and technicians work closely with patients and their families throughout the dialysis process. Social workers, dietitians, pastoral care and other hospital professionals are available as well. We also readily accept patients visiting the Eau Claire area who are in need of hemodialysis treatments.
Our registered nurses are on call 24 hours a day for both centers to provide emergency hemodialysis treatments, peritoneal dialysis assistance and telephone triage for patients.
Hemodialysis is a procedure that cleans and filters the blood. It is the most common method used to treat advanced and permanent kidney failure. During hemodialysis, blood is allowed to flow, a few ounces at a time, through a machine with a special filter that removes wastes and extra fluid. The clean blood is then returned to the body.
