Sacred Heart Hospital announces two management appointments

Eau Claire, Wis. – Shawn Dryden has been appointed Assistant Administrator for Advanced Hospital Care & Operations at Sacred Heart Hospital. Shawn will be responsible for the Neuroscience service line, which includes neurosurgery, Brain & Spine, and program development. He also will be responsible for the hospital’s Cardiovascular service line, which includes cardiopulmonary services, electrodiagnostic services and cath lab services. In addition, Shawn will be responsible for the hospital’s Emergency service line, which includes trauma development, pre-hospital services and tertiary care.

Shawn received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds a master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

Shawn completed his administrative fellowship at Methodist Health Care System in Houston in 2000. For the past eight years, Shawn has been employed at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center, a 489-bed acute care community hospital in St. Louis, Missouri where he has served as director of ortho/neuro/spine service line, director of campus and program planning and most recently, the director of the cardiac service line.

Donald Joyce has been appointed the Regional Director of Physician Alignment and Business Development at Sacred Heart Hospital. He begins his new role on October 13. Donald has 25 years of progressive management experience as a healthcare executive.

Donald worked for the University of Maryland Medical Systems for 14 years where he served as the vice president of operations and business development, and was responsible for strategic planning, business development and physician relations. Most recently Donald served as the senior vice president and COO of Salar, Incorporated, a leading healthcare information technology firm in the areas of strategic partnerships, alliances, contractual relationships and business development. Donald earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.
