Healthcare 2010
Sacred Heart Hospital leadership, the Board of Directors, physicians and community leaders had a strong voice in developing ideas and priorities for Sacred Heart Hospital's new strategic plan to provide regional health care in western Wisconsin. In a comprehensive study process, they participated in over 55 discussion conferences, focus groups and planning meetings to develop objectives that are consistent with the Hospital's Mission and Vision for the future. The plan, detailed in the hospital's transformational roadmap, Healthcare 2010, focuses on several priorities and goals to meet patient needs and to improve the hospital's regional health care:
Objective 1: Clinical Program Development
- Expand neurosciences and neurosurgery program
- Expand and augment the Cardiology Program
- Develop trauma service and enhance critical care program
- Expand regional cancer care
Objective 2: Collaboration Within the Region's Medical Community
- Enhance and expand working partnerships with medical groups
- Expand and establish regional referrals
Objective 3: Resource Stewardship
- Develop initiatives to stabilize and reduce overall hospital costs
The Hospital of the Future:
Healthcare 2010 is being implemented with new goals for patient care, employee satisfaction, physician growth and satisfaction and premier clinical programs. It includes the recent completion of the $35 million Center for Advanced Medicine and Surgery to feature a new Center for Surgical Intensive Care, Central Sterilizing facility, Gift Shop, Center for Spiritual Care, Center for Medical Excellence and Community Auditorium. This also includes a phased floor-by-floor remodeling, renovation and expansion and expansion of Radiology. A second new state-of-the-art Catheterization Laboratory is now complete. As in our last five-year transformational roadmap, these projects are accompanied by the latest technology, information systems and infrastructure to provide you with the very best in new generation medicine, comfort, safety, privacy and advanced care close to home.
